Happy Friday!

Its Friday and I am in a freaking amazing mood!

I am headed to Charlotte tonight to work a 14 year anniversary party for two of my friends Zuni and Jason that have been a shinning example of a gay couple...the theme is CandyLand....I can't wait.

Then Saturday in Raleigh my buddy Amos is throwing a huge Christmas Party....I gotta find something festive to wear.

Then Sunday, my friends Dustin, Eddie, and I are doing a "fight scene" photo shoot...with photographer Curtis Scott Brown.

This is gonna make an eventful and fun weekend.

I started taking animal cuts about a week ago and I am already seeing results. I have never been this lean or cut.

Happy Weekend all!

The Phrase "FML"

I am so tired of young people saying "FML". For those privileged not to know what it means "FML" stands for "fuck my life".

I detest that saying. I hear it all the time used so incorrectly. For me FML must mean something absolutely terrible before I would ever ever ever say that about my life-I take that back I would never utter those words and I never have.

People use it daily for all the wrong reasons like actually having to work an 8 hour workday....come on people...have a little get up and go about yourself.

Alright I am off my soapbox...but that's the biggest turnoff next to smoking a cig I can think of.

Jessica Sutta

So Jessica Sutta has been owning me in the gym as of late. The former pussycat doll has made a name for herself in the club dance scene with her latest single "Show Me". Not only has the song caught the attention and time of several major DJ's but it also went number 1 on the US dance charts. I am posting the lyrics b/c the song is off the hook...but the lyrics are spot on!

Say say what you wanna say say
Tell it to me every day day
But if you don't show me
Words words all they are is words words
Stupid poetry and first first do do you even know me
But first thing that I saw in your eyes
Did you mean, was it all your lies
All your lies, about, about have you ever thought
About how this is supposed to go...yeah
So do you know, do you...ohhh...

Love is not a gimme gimme,
If you really with me you gotta
Show me, show me
Show me, show me
Tell it to me with your mouth
But when it all comes down
You gotta show me show me
Show me, show me
If you say it feels right say it to me all night
I don't think you understand
Love is not a gimmie gimmie
If you really with me you gotta show me
Show me, show me
Show me love...

Eyes eyes open up your eyes
Don't hide what you got inside inside
If you wanna know me
Hey hey I'm not gonna stay stay
Keep it with you night and day day
No if you don't show me
Everything hidden in your heart
All your feels every single part
About, about have you ever thought

About how this is supposed to go Yeah
So do you know, do you Ohhh...

Love is not a gimme gimme,
If you really with me you gotta
Show me, show me
Show me, show me
Tell it to me with your mouth
But when it all comes down
You gotta show me show me
Show me, show me
If you say it feels right say it to me all night
I don't think you understand
Love is not a gimmie gimmie
If you really with me you gotta show me
Show me, show me
Show me love...

Everything you got is everything you need...

Everything you want is inside of me...

Love is not a gimme gimme,
If you really with me you gotta
Show me, show me
Show me, show me
Tell it to me with your mouth
But when it all comes down
You gotta show me show me
Show me, show me
If you say it feels right say it to me all night
I don't think you understand
Love is not a gimmie gimmie
If you really with me you gotta show me
Show me, show me
Show me love...

Nasty Pig

So Nasty Pig recently upped their game. The new Dominant Jeans look is so damn hot! Polar Polarizer (The visual director and stylist for the brand's campaign and lookbook shoots) has done an amazing job. I recently visited the store and bought a pair of their NP Jean 2102. They fit like a glove. I wore them out this past Saturday and most said I looked like walking sex. They are my new favorite Jeans. Here are some shots from the new Dominant Jeans Campaign.

And then here is me in the store....they have a tradition of taking pics of patrons trying on their clothes.

Current Summation.

At this moment I can sum myself up with this sentence:

As an extremely active person physically and socially, every now and then I need a day for myself, and I'm hoping that in the future I can spend those days lying next to someone I have genuine feelings for.

Rough Gods Christmas Card

This year I was photographed by Michael Alago for his annual Rough Gods Christmas Card. We took several shots and as they come in I will post them. They are all fun and playful...kinda mischievous and playing on the naughty/nice Santa theme.

The City

I have hard Manhattan referred to as "The City" on a number of occasions by so many people. Now I am a believer. Once your in it, working it, its amazing. Everything is right around the corner and within 5 minutes of where you are. Its full of successful minds and people with realistic attitudes.

I was there over thanksgiving weekend. I worked at Splash last friday and had my first major slip up as a dancer. Out of all the bars and boxes I have been on this year I have never fallen off. Well there is a first time for everything.... Picture this...Splash was recently glossed over to reflect today's modern club. So the bar I was dancing on was smooth almost teflon white plastic, narrow, and very slippery. It was a square bar in the middle of the club that I could walk around. So between dodging cocktails and a cash register I lost my footing and went flying off! Luckily for me....there were people to land on....lmao. No one got hurt and I did not get kicked out...we all got a laugh and the night went on.

The next day I had another photo shoot with Michael Alago of Rough Gods. He had partnered with Scooter Laforge...taken an image from our last shoot and made a very cool T-shirt. Each T-shirt is handmade, unique, and one of kind. They will potentially be sold in Patricia Fields boutique in NYC. For now you can pre-order by emailing or paying $80 by pay pal to Below is what the shirt looks like on....mind you, I cut the sleeves off this one.

Also that day we took the Rough Gods Christmas card pic. I don't have an image of that yet but when I do I will be sure and share it.

Then on Saturday night I had the privilege of working a g Lounge. I will have to say that next to Oz New Orleans its has been my most favorite bar to work. It was fresh, great patrons, sick music, and very friendly staff. The event was called Twisted Saturdays....kinda of a house party in a club atmosphere.

For more great events like Twisted in NYC you can visit the promoters page at:

Cheers until next time.

Lets go play!

As I reflect on my year I find joy in contemplating what I am most thankful for. Every year it's slightly different.

1. I am thankful for my sister. We live together as adults because we choose to. Not because of any type of circumstance. I feel so lucky to have a sister that I am so close to, that I can trust with anything and that is always there for me. She is and will be my longest friend in life.

2. I am thankful for the real friends I have in my life. The ones that care enough care. The ones I can trust, talk to....the ones I want to see. They make everyday special and I cherish each and everyone one of my friends.

3. I am thankful for mobility and self propulsion. I have traveled so much this year and it's allowed be to cross paths with other self propelled and mobile individuals. They help me grow. They keep me on my toes. When you constantly come in contact with the cream of the crop it really puts what is out there in prospective. Thus I am thankful for being inspired by the most creative young adults around the country.

4. I am thankful I am not afraid to try anything. I am thankful I have the courage to put myself in any situation and try something out-I used to be very shy individual but I never meet a stranger anymore.

5. I am thankful for hard lessons learned. I need to be reminded sometimes that things are not what they seem at first and trust must be earned not given.

6. I am thankful for my health, I am thankful that I care enough to devote myself to the health of my physical and mental body. Its the only house I will live in for my whole life and I am so thankful I care enough to keep it immaculate.

7. I am thankful for the best advice I have gotten this year: "I've learned that time is the relationship healer and going out and meeting/dating other guys mends wounds. There are some fucking awesome people and sweethearts out there and if the one you are with isn't...don't waste your time because YOU are"

8. I am thankful I remain positive, optimistic, and that I look on the bright side. I am thankful I accomplish as least one thing each day and vegging out on a couch is never an option.

And thus I am thankful I am ready to keep pushing forward. 2011 was the year of opportunities and I seized them all. I hope to accomplish half the things in 2012 that I did in 2011. So lets go play ;-)

Thanksgiving Weekend in NYC

When it rains it pours. My friend Michael approached me about coming back to New York City to be photographed for the Rough Gods Christmas Card this year.

Well I love getting all Santa'ed up so why it would be fun. I also have never worked in New York City so I figured I would try and find work for both Friday and Saturday nights.

I had made acquaintances with a gentlemen named Mark. He is responsible for putting on the Pier Dance during New York Pride. He also books a lot of dancers and entertainment across NYC. I contacted him and he got me booked at Splash New York for their weekly F-Word Fridays party. Splash has been one of those anomalies in New York that has actually survived the ebb and flow of club popularity so I am anxious to see it firsthand for myself.

So working somewhere Saturday was still up in the air. However things turned up and I got booked at this new place "g Lounge" that has a newly popular Saturday night event called "Twisted Saturdays"

And Thus is planned my NYC Thankgiving weekend. Between working Friday and Saturday night, I will be photographed for the Christmas Card which probably will be the highlight of the weekend. Well that and buying some more gaudy watches on 8th avenue....cheers I'll drink to that!

So I had a goal to get hired by Matinee North America. They throw the most amazing parties all over the USA, mostly in NYC, Las Vegas, and Miami. It's very difficult to break into their circle. They are on the fore front of innovation when it comes to stage sets, costumes, lighting, and overall design of a dance party. They hire only top tier DJ's and for lack of a better explanation are battling Peter Rauhofer's Work (WE) events for the top of the circuit. Well after less than an year of dancing....I got in. Its been hard. I have networked my ass off, met everyone I possibly could in the Matinee circle, worked hard in the gym, done countless photo shoots, and flown across the country working and making a name for myself on the scene. And it has paid off. I am booked for La Leche Christmas night in Miami. This party has been all across the world from Ibiza....and now Miami. I am on cloud 9 about this. I cannot wait!

I am a fan of carry over....longevity....and some idea of things moving from generation to generation. My grandmother loved to see something grow. When she was more able she had taken cuttings from a rose mallow (confederate rose) from a pioneer settlement in Franklinton Louisiana.

She planted them in her yard. Year after year they bloomed every fall...without fail. My mother liked them so much she took cuttings from my grandmothers house and planted some in her yard. And as a child growing up...year after year they bloomed every fall without fail.

When I bought my first home, my mom drove up for a congratulatory visit that spring. She brought with her cuttings of that same rose so I could have a piece of family with me. And for the last five years...they have bloomed without fail every fall.

I took the time to notice them this afternoon and they brought back so many memories. Memories more of people and events, but those blossoms were always in the background every fall.

A simple weekend.

I spent this weekend in Charlotte with some amazing people. I stayed with my ex. It was great to see him. We have remained friends over the years and its so wonderful to have someone like him I can trust in....and not have any sexual tensions or issues. I can tell him anything and vice versa. I guess after you had lived with someone for 3 years they are kinda like family and always will be.

I danced at two events in Charlotte. The Just Twirl Veterans Day Twirl and the Marigny Rewind Party. I have to say the people of Charlotte are a free spirited full of life bunch. They are adaptable, optimistic, and so welcoming.

Also my friend Spencer had a layover in Charlotte that same weekend. Lucky for me our plans coincided and we spent almost 4 hours at a restaurant talking, laughing, and re-capping our crazy year....the ups and downs and moments we experienced.

Its funny how many people you can be in touch with, how many lives you can cross into. Sometimes I wish I had more time to know everyones story cause every time I sit down and actually listen to someone I learn so much about them.

I was at the gym with my ex and a song came on that I had never heard before. The underlying piano in the song is beautiful and the lyrics so moving.

Veterans Day Weekend/Rewind

The next events I will working are the Veterans Day Twirl...presented by Just Twirl at Marigny Dance Club on November 11th.

I am staying in Charlotte and working the "Rewind" Part 3 party at Marigny the following night on November 12th.

HNO28 Recap

Halloween New Orleans was a blast. Weather was mild (chilly at night) lots of sunny days and pleasant times. I roomed with my friends Carlos and Francisco....we were all three dancing at OZ for the weekend. Between shifts we ate, partied, slept, and joked around.

A group of my friends came from Raleigh as well as good friends from the west coast and the midwest. For the main party 4 of us went as unicorns!

Below are pics from highlights of the weekend.

Thursday night was our first shift dancing at the bar. It was a blast. We got so messy we were sprinting down bourbon street in our underwear fetching hurricanes and hand grenades :-) After our shift we somehow made it to and Ihop...for being wasted we look pretty good.

This is a pic of my unicorn crew....pre unicorn planet of course!

Getting dressed for the saturday night party was a tornado of feathers and sparkles....we got so excited this is the only group pic we got...kinda sad but who needs pics when you have the memories.

Sunday I went on a boat cruise. The steamboat Natchez cruised up and down the Mississippi complete with brunch, drinks, and music. A really nice time.

And after 4 days of partying.....everybody needs a pregnant gurl moment and thats where we discovered the most delicious bread pudding!

Only 15 weeks till Mardi Gras and I get to do it all over again!

Mais......It's once again time for Nolita to twinkle in my eyes.

Halloween New Orleans 28 (HNO28) starts this Thursday Oct 27th. I will be working at Oz again....4th time this year. I can't wait. Never before have I prepared so many dancing costumes with special effects. But thats the spirit of New Orleans and with all the creative juices there I am sure to underwhelm...but nonetheless it will be great. The main party is Saturday..
Some friends and I have been feverishly working on our costumes. We based our entire idea on a photo shoot with the Hause of Exterface.
I promise pics are to follow the trip.

The Hearts battle with deductive reasoning.

I think one of the great decisions in life we face daily is whether we allow deductive reasoning to rule our emotions/actions or let our heart be our guide.

Deductive reasoning can lead to the truth. It's very protective. It looks at the facts, creates a real picture and if we listen will for the most part it will steer us in the right direction.

Our heart relies on a sixth sense that lives in fairyland. Butterflies, calmness, warmth, comfort, passion, emotion, something that stirs us and leaves us wanting more. Wanting one more minute, one more touch, one more eye contact, one more minute of silence feeling the moment and cherishing it for what it is.

You can't break deductive reasoning. It can be disappointing, but not breaking. You can look at a situation and come to the conclusion that its not correct without involving emotions.

The heart jumps in, full steam. Emotions may start as a drizzle and reach a full on downpour...deductive reasoning may be staring you in the face...screaming at you but you can't hear it cause the heart is raining so hard it drowns everything around you've opened up. You are vulnerable. You gave of yourself, you trusted, you let down you barrier and you stopped hiding. You may be fucked.

Not always, there are anomalies, but probably mostly the heart is going take you to the rodeo. Your heart is going to give you the time of your life and in one instance the fuel its breathing on, the energy is using to pump all the happiness into your insides can stop, it can hide, and change directions and what was so constant, so comforting can fade into the abyss.

Your heart has nothing to go on but un-answers and it still overpowers your deductive reasoning, the downpour still drowns out any thought as your heart digs deeper and deeper into that well to try to find some fuel. Eventually the downpour will fade to a drizzle, your mind will pick up and you can begin make your days good again.

Sooner or later you can roll the windows down on a nice day and drive, look at the clouds and appreciate being alive and all you still have to offer.

So how do you live, are you gonna choose deductive reasoning or your heart. As much as it hurts me I am choosing my heart. My heart may fuck me and drive me to a point so low I feel like I am stuck carrying around a brown bandana, but at the same time my heart takes me to highs I will never forget. Some moments were simple, some where complex, some happened before I knew it and and days later replayed in my head and gave me an emotional ride like no drug ever did.....but in the end thats living and I would not trade those good times for anything.

I miss him

Sometimes in life things and events happen so fast. So fast that you don't know where to put them, what folder they go in, or even what to do with your thoughts. Images and words and events all floating around in your head and where the hell do they go. All I can do now is write, I can't sleep, I can't think, I can't stop crying. This never really happened to me but I feel help less...I just miss him.

I miss seeing him for the first time,
I miss the way he came right up to me and said hello.
I miss him walking in the rain to see me,
I miss seeing him on bar and him kneeling down to say hello,
I miss spending the first night together,
I miss having our first lunch date on labor day.
I miss casually drinking the day away and romantically playing in a hot tub.
I miss him changing his flight at 4:30 in the morning just so we could spend the night together one last time.

I miss him asking me to call him on my lunch break.
I miss showing up at his house for the first time and having wine on the roof top.
I miss being handed a rose and given a kiss.
I miss cutting up potatoes and making hash browns together
I miss holding him at night.
I actually miss watching him play video games and how excited he gets about them.

I miss the sound of his voice and the special way he said my name.
I miss him making me the lock screen on his phone.
I miss his smell, I miss his eyes, I miss looking into his eyes.
I miss him telling me I was the best part of his night and how we talked every night.

I miss when he asked me to take him to Angie one day.
I miss every damn thing about him.
I miss the excitement of actually building a relationship with a great person
Most of all I miss the times when he missed me like I miss him.

Southern Decadence

I can't let a year go by without saying something about SD. And SD 2011 was so good I can't put it into words.

If you have never done should. Its old, historic, fun, lively, smelly...just amazing. All walks of life show up and anything can happen. From thunderstorm downpours, to traffic trannies directing traffic, to meeting someone who completely sweeps you off your feet...New Orleans has something magical in store for everyone. I had so much fun I only took about 3 pics with my camera phone lol.

Take my advice and just go next won't be dissapointed.

Rough Gods Photo Shoot

This past weekend I had the pleasure of shooting with Michael Alago. He has two books out already......Rough Gods and The Brutal Truth. We did a three day shoot Friday, Saturday, and Sunday morning. Most of our stuff we did on the Westside Highway in NYC. There are some really great spots there along the River near Pier 54. I had been to Pier 54 earlier this summer for the Pier Dance so I was a little familiar with the area already. I am posting a few of the sample pics. I am thrilled to be a part of Michael's work and his upcoming books. He was a pleasure to work with.

Market Days Recap

So Market Days was an absolute thrill. I was able to work the main party at the House of Blues...the Wild West Revolution. Here are some pics of the event.

It was a Western theme....really fun costumes and great music! Other than the main parties Market Days was very much like Southern Decadence, but more subdued. A large street festival if you will. Chicago is beautiful and the locals are super friendly.

Definitely a trip worth taking if you have not been.

Being Human

I am most happy when I see other people smiling. It doesn't matter what makes them smile I just like to see them happy from the inside out.
I just got back from NYC Pride and something has solidified in me. The idea that we are all connected to an extent and can look at each other smiling and appreciate it.
I watched a lot of people this weekend and all I could wonder was what is their perception. When they look through their eyes what do they do they perceive the song we are both listening too, what do my lips feel like to them, how does the food taste to them, do they like their drink, how "high" do they actually feel, are they having fun, are they nervous?
Being Human is we all want each other? Its odd that people I have met in public that showed what I thought to be no interest will be the first to hit me up on Grindr or a social networking site and ask me I wonder if I intimidate people in public. Its certainly not my fact I get intimidated by people most of the time and are afraid to approach them. But if we are all feeling the same way someone has to make the first move right?
So I started doing something new...if I see someone I want to talk (not necessarily for a hookup-just to meet)I just take a deep breath, smile and would be surprised how that lowers the other persons guard and makes the feel you are friendly.
And I think thats what it all boils down too....I think as a people we inherently like a friendly, fun, person and when the fear of rudeness/rejection is taken away-another plane of connection is reached and albeit sometimes short a bond is made.
And that is beautiful...and with that attitude you can make being human a joy and spread smiles to others. I am coming down from a weekend of utopian experiences and adjusting back to everyday life but I am so happy for each life I get to share a part in. I just have to keep reminding myself that we all have sensory perceptions and experience them differently-we are complicated and full of emotion and motives.
All the Best,

Memorial Day Weekend Pcola vs. Gay Days vs. DC Pride

As you can tell from my previous post I just did three consecutive prides. Memorial Day weekend in Pensacola FL, Gay Days at Disney in Orlando FL, and Capital Pride in Washington DC. I am going to rank them in order of "1" Most fun to "3" still amazing but not as amazing as "1" ;-)

1. Memorial Day Weekend in Pensacola FL. Without a doubt in all my gay travels this is the most fun event of the year. Most revelers arrive on Thursday evening and stay till Monday morning. Groups of friends either stay in rented beach houses, the Portofino Island Resort, or hotels near the mainland. Its a mixed event with just as much lesbian as gay participation. Approximately 60,000 people are estimated to populate the 5 mile stretch of beach each year for 3 consecutive days. The idea is to bring a tent...mainly for shade and to have a place to keep your drinks...set up and decorate it and let the fun begin. Our group always stays at the Portofino Island Resort. We usually are at the Beach by 11 a.m. and drink/play/flirt/cruise all day till about 6 p.m. (its utterly amazing) The beach is littered with incredible bodies and smiling faces. At around 6 p.m. we pack up head back to the resort ~2 miles for a bit and then hit the pool party at the resort. The pool party...which I like to call "boy soup" is completely full of boys, a DJ, a full bar, a hot tub, and one of the most beautiful sunsets you will every see. The pool party beats into the night and lasts until 10 p.m .each day. Then you have nightlife options which range from sit down bars like Flounder, to dance clubs such as Emerald City, to full fledged circuit parties. The best part about Pcola is the people. Maybe its something in the water maybe it's just people itching to find a trick...but its so darn friendly. No one meets stranger and every time you turn around a tent will be offering you a drink of some sort...just plain southern fun!

2. Gay Days Disney in Orlando FL. Gay Days is a social phenomenon that began some years ago. The actual Gay Day is the saturday of the event when everyone goes to the magic kingdom and wears a red shirt. Its really fun to see so many queers at the main disney theme park all in red. This year I attended and did mostly the Mark Baker events. Gay Days is very much a circuit party and is centered around music and euphoric feelings whilst dancing.
Each day starts around lunch with a DJ'ed pool party that lasts until around 7 p.m. After the pool party most head out to the nightly circuit event. These events cost around $80 and are set for the most part at Disney. Huge DJ's, sound systems, talent, and lights are brought in to set the scene for a absolutely fun time dancing till about 2 a.m. Then if you can still walk you can hit up the after hours till about 8 a.m. the next morning. The after hours sound will be more dark and tribal but the beats are still really fun to move too. I put gay days behind Pcola because its fun but not as varied. Every gay days event is a blast but its the same thing over and over where as Pcola has the beach, the pool, and the nightlife. However I will say that the men at Gay Days are much if its eye candy and circuit fashion you want Gay Days is the place to be.

3. Capital Pride in Washington DC. I have had many a good weekend in DC. Some of my favorites have been Mid Atlantic Leather (MAL) and Cherry weekend. DC Pride was fun. The atmosphere...the spirit....and the overall color of the painted streets of Dupont/Logan Circle made DC Pride fun. However...remembering how fun MAL and Cherry weekend were I did expect a little more from DC Pride. Its the capital of the USA....and the floats in the parade were less than lackluster. Also the clubs did not really go all out and decorate or bring in big name DJ's/performers. It it had not been for the parade/festival/ and bounty of rainbow flags it would have been just like any other weekend in DC. Albeit fun....not as amazing as I expected from Captial Pride. What did make it fun was the good friends I have there and the genuine souls that live there and call it home. For them it was there homecoming weekend, their weekend to shine, and their Pride.....and for that I give them two thumbs up.

Go and Travel!

Some things I like for this summer

I love these "Shredders" from Nasty Pig

I also think this tank from Nasty Pig is hot as well

Another website I have become fond of is they are quite pricey but have some hot stuff

Nasty Pig also carries a variety of accessories...I am particularly fond of the leg harness

Ruf Skin always brings something fresh to the table....I am in love with their "runners" I think they would be great for fitness, dancing, or clubbing.
